The Throne Room

Revelation 5 brings us into a moment of tension. John sees a scroll that holds the fulfillment of God’s purposes for the world, but no one is found worthy to open it. For a moment, it seems as though history has no resolution, and John responds by weeping.

This passage names a question many people carry. Is there anyone who can truly make sense of the world, deal with evil, and bring things to their proper end? The answer comes in an unexpected way. In this vision, we see that God’s power is not distant or indifferent, but expressed through sacrifice, mercy, and redemption.
