Trinity’s LERT team recently returned from a tornado recovery mission in St. Louis, where volunteers cleared storm-damaged trees at Concordia Seminary and helped organize relief supplies with Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Supported by donations from Trinity members, the team provided meals, hygiene kits, and children’s backpacks to families in need. Recovery efforts continue, with more serving teams being recruited this summer.

Trinity’s LERT (Lutheran Early Response Team) is part of a disaster response network coordinated by Lutheran Church Charities in the Northern Illinois District. Our trained volunteers respond to natural disasters—like tornadoes, hurricanes, and floods—by providing cleanup, chainsaw work, flood recovery, food service, and emotional and spiritual support. Whether local or nationwide, Trinity’s LERT team brings help, hope, and the love of Jesus to people in crisis.
